The leadership group to ensure success in Werribee

The 30th of January 2010 will be a day to be remembered for four of South Australia’s young hopefuls. Craig Murray and Sarah Bernhardt have been named to take the lead roles in the team with Dekland Modra and Kimberley Inglis taking the supportive role of Vice Captains.

Team Coach, Robert Alexander announced the leadership group on the first day of the teams camp in Mt Gambier. When asked about the selection he stated ‘it was a hard decision but at the end of the day I am confident the four can really motivate the team and lead us to success.’

In his third President’s Shield Team Craig Murray (Craigmore) the newly announced Boys Team Captain said ‘I am very excited by the potential of the team and believe that we can do very well come April.’ The second year as Captain for Sarah Bernhardt (Clarence Gardens) shall bring greater results as she commented ‘as long as we continue to train hard and put in a great amount of effort we will come home very pleased.’

David Wyborn the new proprietor of Gambier City Bowl was very hospitable for the Juniors and provided a great time for everyone. He was very surprised by the potential of the Juniors and commented that the Tenpin SA visit to Mt Gambier was ‘great for the sport and really gave all the local bowlers a taste of competitive bowling. We would love to have the kids down here every weekend if we could, its great to see some of our local talent having the opportunity to compete against the best Juniors in the state.’

The President’s Shield Team will head to Werribee, Victoria in April to compete in the Australian Junior National Championships.
