Panella and Cross win the SA Youth Masters
Jayden Panella and Emily Cross both from Victoria have taken out the 2017 SA Youth Masters tournament.
The Tournament bowled at Salisbury Bowland on the weekend saw 50 local and interstate bowlers compete for $11,690 in prize money. The top 16 males and 12 females progressed from qualifying on Saturday to bowl Stage 2 on Sunday. Panella and Cross were the overnight leaders in their divisions and again finished the 8 games of Stage 2 in top position.
The top three bowlers in each division then battled it out in a step ladder final to decided the Champion for 2017. In the female division Emma Williamson defeated Chloe Jones 208 - 167 to progress to the final. In the male division Elliott Batiste defeated Blayne Fletcher 245 - 191 to take his place in the final.
Both divisions went to two games in the final with the top seed having the right to re-challenge if they were defeated in the first game. The final scores were Emily Cross to win with 184 & 205 to Emma Williamson's 190 & 152. In the Men it was Jayden Panella 202 &n199 to take the win from Elliott Batiste 218 & 164.
